New Water Pump Installation
Correct Pump Sizing | Professional Installation | Complete Water System Expertise
The Right Pump for Your Property
Whether your water comes from a rainwater tank, bore or another water source, the right pump needs to match your property, water demand and the way your system operates.
Aqua Works supplies and installs water pumps for residential, lifestyle and light commercial properties. However, we don’t just install a pump. We look at your water source, property and water demand to make sure the pump is right for the whole system.
New Builds
A properly designed pump system from the start, matched to your water supply and household requirements.
New Water Supply Systems
The right pump and connections to get water from your tank to where you need it with reliable pressure and flow.
Pump & System Upgrades
Changing water demand, additional bathrooms or buildings, or poor pressure can mean your existing pump is no longer right for the job.
Not sure what pump you need?
Tell us about your property and water system. We’ll work out the right pump and setup for the job.
Your pump is part of a complete water system
A water pump doesn’t work in isolation. Its performance depends on everything around it, from where your water comes from to how and where it is used.
That’s why Aqua Works looks at the complete system before recommending a pump.
Water Source & Storage
Rainwater tank, bore or another supply, where the water comes from and how it is stored affects the pump setup.
Distance & Elevation
Long pipe runs and changes in elevation affect how hard a pump needs to work.
How You Use Your Water
Bathrooms, appliances, outdoor taps, additional buildings and commercial use all affect the demand placed on the system.
Pressure & Flow
We consider how much water needs to be delivered and the pressure required when multiple outlets are being used.
Pipework
Pipe size, layout, valves and restrictions can all influence pressure and pump performance.
Filtration & UV
Filters and water treatment systems create resistance and need to be considered when sizing the pump.
What we consider before recommending a pump
The right pump needs to deliver the right pressure and flow for your property, without being under- or oversized. Before we recommend a pump, we look at the factors that determine how your system needs to perform.
The result? A pump selected for how your property actually uses water, not simply what’s easiest to install.
Water Source
Rainwater tank, bore or another supply. Where the water comes from and how the pump receives it, helps determine the type of pump and setup required.
Water Demand & Flow Rate
We look at how much water your home or business needs and what happens when showers, taps, appliances or other outlets are running at the same time.
Required Water Pressure
Good pressure isn’t simply about installing a more powerful pump. We determine the pressure your property needs and what the complete system can reliably deliver.
Head, Distance & Elevation
The distance water travels, changes in elevation and the position of the pump all affect how much pressure the pump needs to produce.
Pipework & Existing System
Pipe size, valves, restrictions and the existing system can affect pump performance. A new pump can’t compensate for every problem elsewhere in the system.
Filtration & Water Treatment
Filters, UV systems and other treatment equipment can affect flow and pressure and need to be considered when the pump is sized.
Let us do the sizing
You don’t need to work out flow rates, pressure or pump sizing yourself. That’s our job.
Tell us what you need your water system to do, and we’ll recommend the right pump and setup. Talk to our pump team.
Water pump installation for different water sources
Where your water comes from makes a difference to how your pump system needs to be designed. Aqua Works installs pump systems for rainwater, bore water and other private water supplies across residential, lifestyle and light commercial properties.
Rainwater tank systems
For properties relying on collected rainwater, the pump needs to provide reliable pressure and flow for everyday water use.
We consider tank location, suction lines, pipework, filtration and UV treatment as part of the complete setup, not just the pump itself.
Bore, spring & surface water systems
Drawing water from a bore, spring, river or other surface water source brings different requirements. We can size, supply and install the right pump for the source, including submersible bore pumps and the removal and replacement of existing pumps.
We consider factors such as water level, pumping distance and elevation, required flow and pressure, controls, storage and any filtration or water treatment required.
Need a pump for another application? We also install pumps for rural water supply, water transfer, pressure boosting and other specialist applications.
From assessment to installation. Our process.
From choosing the right pump to getting the complete system up and running, we take care of the whole installation.

FAQ about Water Pump Installation
How do I know what size water pump I need?
The right pump size depends on more than the size of your home. We consider required flow and pressure, simultaneous water use, water source, pumping distance and elevation, pipework, filtration and the way your property uses water. Aqua Works can assess these factors and size the pump for the complete system.
What is the best pump for a rainwater tank?
There isn’t one pump that’s best for every rainwater system. Tank location, household demand, required pressure and flow, pipework, filtration and UV treatment all influence the right choice. We recommend the pump based on how your particular system needs to perform.
What type of pump do I need for a bore?
This depends on factors including bore depth, water level, required flow and how the water will be used or stored. Many bores use a submersible pump installed within the bore. Aqua Works can size, supply and install bore pumps, as well as pull and replace existing submersible pumps.
Can I just replace my old water pump with the same model?
Sometimes, but like-for-like isn’t always the best option. Your water demand may have changed, the existing pump may have been incorrectly sized, or newer equipment may suit the system better. We assess the setup before recommending a replacement.
Will a bigger pump give me better water pressure?
Not necessarily. Poor pressure can also be caused by undersized or restricted pipework, filters, valves, elevation, flow demand or other parts of the system. Installing a more powerful pump without identifying the cause can create new problems rather than solve the existing one.
Do filters and UV systems affect pump sizing?
They can. Filtration and water treatment equipment create resistance within the system and can affect available flow and pressure. That’s why we consider filtration and UV when sizing a pump rather than treating them as separate components.
Can you install pumps for farms and small businesses?
Yes. We install pumps for residential, lifestyle, rural and light commercial applications, including private water supply, water transfer and pressure systems. The pump and setup are selected around the water source and the demands of the property.
Which UV water filter brands do you install and service?
Do you supply the pump as well as install it?
Yes. Aqua Works can assess your requirements, recommend and supply the appropriate pump, complete the installation and connections, and test and commission the system once installed. Visit our shop »
