It started with a simple goal: Better water.

Back in 2000, Steve Reynolds was living in Warkworth with a straightforward problem: the water at home simply wasn’t good enough. Coming from an agricultural engineering background and a strong belief in doing things properly, he figured there had to be a better way. What started as improving his own family’s water quickly became a passion for helping others across Rodney do the same.

More than 25 years later, Aqua Works has grown into one of Rodney’s trusted local specialists for plumbing, pumps and water filtration systems, supporting homes, farms, schools and businesses from Mangawhai to Albany.

Many of our customers have been with us for more than a decade. We know their properties, their water systems and often their families too. Today, Steve’s son Jakob is also part of the business, a reflection of what Aqua Works has always been about: local people helping local people with practical, honest advice and reliable service.

What we believe about water

At Aqua Works, we believe good water is something people should be able to trust without thinking twice about it. Whether it’s the water your family drinks every day, the water supplying a rural property or the systems supporting a local business, clean and reliable water has a direct impact on health, comfort and everyday life.

That’s why we take a practical, long-term approach to plumbing, pumps, filtration and water treatment. We focus on understanding the full picture: your property, your water source and the unique conditions across Rodney,  so we can recommend solutions that genuinely work for the people using them.

We also believe in doing business properly: giving honest advice, standing behind our work and building long-term relationships with our customers and community. After more than 20 years serving Rodney, many of our customers have become long-term friends of the business, and we’re incredibly grateful for that trust.

Today, he still works closely with customers across Rodney, helping solve everything from plumbing and pumps to filtration and complete water system solutions.

Originally from the UK, Steve moved to New Zealand in the 1990s after travelling the world and quickly developed a passion for water quality and treatment systems. With a background in agricultural engineering and decades of hands-on experience, he’s built Aqua Works into one of Rodney’s trusted local water specialists.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys life with his family, fast cars and endurance racing. He’s passionate about community, honest relationships and building a business that genuinely helps people.

A Rodney local through and through, Troy understands the different water conditions across the region, from tank water systems and rural properties to silica scale around Snells Beach and mains water challenges further south. After starting out in plumbing straight from Mahurangi College, he completed his apprenticeship locally and became a registered plumber in 2015. Since then, he’s built strong hands-on experience across residential and commercial plumbing and water systems.

Outside of work, Troy enjoys making the most of the Rodney lifestyle, from beaches and the outdoors to spending time with family and friends around the local community he’s proud to call home.
