Version: September 2026 | New Zealand
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information, both when you use our website and when we quote, carry out work, supply goods or manage your account. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
1. Who we are
Pure Water Services North Limited, trading as Aqua Works and Warkworth Plumbing (we, us, our), collects and holds your personal information. Our address is 2 Mill Lane, Warkworth 0910, and our postal address is PO Box 677, Warkworth 0941. You can contact our Privacy Officer at healthy@aquaworks.co.nz or on 0800 278 296.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we reasonably need for our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- your name, phone number, email address, and postal, billing and property addresses
- details about your property, water supply, water test results, plumbing, pumps and treatment equipment
- photos, video and notes of your site and our work, including drain camera footage
- quotes, bookings, invoices, payments, and warranty and service records
- messages, form submissions and records of our calls and emails with you
- credit information, if you have an account with us
- technical information from your visits to our website, described in section 6
Online card payments are processed by our payment provider, Windcave, and we do not receive your full card number.
3. How we collect it
We collect most information directly from you, for example when you call or email us, fill in a form on our website, accept a quote or buy from our online shop.
We may also collect information about you from other people, such as a builder, architect or project manager, a property manager, landlord or tenant, a real estate agent, your insurer, another tradesperson, a laboratory that tests your water, referees, credit reporters, or public sources such as council property records. When we collect information about you from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, unless an exception in the Privacy Act applies. This policy is part of how we do that.
4. Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and prepare quotes
- schedule and carry out work, and supply and deliver goods
- test and report on your water quality
- provide warranties, service reminders and maintenance
- manage accounts, credit and payments
- keep job, health and safety, and compliance records
- meet our legal obligations, including tax, plumbing certification, building compliance and drinking-water requirements
- improve our website and services, and prevent fraud or misuse
- tell you about our services, where the law allows
Some information is required by law, for example records we must keep for tax and for certifying plumbing and building work. Otherwise, giving us information is your choice, but without it we may not be able to answer your enquiry, prepare an accurate quote or carry out the work.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where reasonably necessary, with:
- our staff and subcontractors
- suppliers and manufacturers, for example to order equipment or make a warranty claim
- laboratories such as Hill Laboratories, when we send water samples for testing
- councils, regulators and other authorities, where the law requires
- payment, credit-reporting and debt-collection providers

We do not sell personal information. We may also disclose information where you authorise it, where it is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to someone’s health or safety, to investigate fraud or unlawful activity, to enforce our rights, or where the law requires or allows it.
6. Our website, cookies and analytics
When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site and your approximate location. We use:

7. Storage and overseas providers
Some of our service providers store or process information outside New Zealand, for example in Australia and the United States. Where a provider uses our information only to provide its service to us, that is storage, not a disclosure. Where we do disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it will be protected by safeguards comparable to those in the Privacy Act, or we tell you and ask for your authorisation where the Act requires.
8. Security and how long we keep it
We use reasonable physical, technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. No system is completely secure.
We keep personal information only as long as we reasonably need it, including for warranties, tax (generally seven years), health and safety, building and plumbing records, insurance and resolving disputes. We then securely delete or anonymise it.
9. Privacy breaches
If a privacy breach happens, we will act quickly to contain it and assess the harm. If it is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as soon as practicable, as the Privacy Act requires.
10. Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask us whether we hold personal information about you, ask to see it, and ask us to correct it. Please contact our Privacy Officer. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires, and if we cannot give you some information we will tell you why.
11. Marketing
We send service reminders, quotes and account messages as part of our work for you. We send promotional emails or texts only as the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 allows. Every marketing message identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests within five working days.
12. Children
Our website and services are not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
13. Questions and complaints
If you have a question or concern about privacy, please contact our Privacy Officer by email at healthy@aquaworks.co.nz, by phone on 0800 278 296, or by post to Privacy Officer, Aqua Works, PO Box 677, Warkworth 0941. We will try to resolve your concern promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our business, our website or the law. The current version is always on this page, with its version date at the top.
The terms that apply to our quotes and work are in our Terms and Conditions of Trade.
